a tribute to the 9/11 heroes and our soldiers

Dark! Is the Night

but oh

Bright is the Day

THINKING OF YOU

Dark is the Night
but oh
Bright is the Day

Is there no end to the pain?
Searing pain, stabbing pain,
The devastation, destruction
Sleep, we want to go to sleep.
But Oh the searing stabbing pain.

Where are you Lord?
Can’t you hear us cry out?
Is this the end or some
Tortuous game that is being
Played by some unknown force?

Yes, my children
I do hear you,
I do feel your pain.
No it is not some cruel,
Tortuous game being
played by some unknown force.

It is me working my good pleasure on you
Molding you and shaping you into something
So beautiful and lovely that even the birds will be silent.
Look up and see my handiwork around you
Take in all of my beauty and
Allow the beauty to feel your being with peace and love.

From Denyce Graves, Mezzo-Soprano, and an African-American:

The events of September 11 will forever stand out as a turning point in all our lives. Things not truly important fell away from our thoughts as the urgency to reconnect to our brothers brought a renewed sense of patriotism.

The grief and pain we Americans felt draws to our hearts the reasons we must protect the freedoms we as a Nation have earned.

Now, as we go forward, we lift our thoughts in appreciation of all those affected by the events of that day and as a tribute to the many heroes created by these suddenly turbulent times.

The operatic Mezzo-Soprano Denyce Graves suggests the words of the 23rd Psalm:
I will fear no evil for thou art with me ...
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.
Ms. Graves adds:

May God keep our world in His loving embrace.

Midi is Lean on Me

LEAN ON ME

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you don't let show

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me

So just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

HELLO GOD

by Dolly Parton

Hello, God, are you out there?
Can you hear me?
Are you listenin' any more?
Hello, God, if we're still on speakin' terms,
Can you help me like before?.
I have questioned your existence,
My resistance leaves me cold.
Can you help me go the distance?
Hello, God. Hello, hello.

This old world has gone to pieces,
Can we fix it? Is there time?
Hate and violence just increases,
We're so selfish, cruel and blind.
We fight and kill each other,
In your name, defending you.
Do you love some more than others?
We're so lost and confused.

Hello, God, are you out there?
Can you hear us?
Are you listenin' any more?
Hello, God, if we're still on speakin' terms,
Can you help us like before?.
Oh, the free will you have given,
We have made a mockery of.
This is no way to be livin'.
We're in great need of your love.
Hello, God.
(Hello, hello.)

Hello, God, can you grant us,
Love enough to make amends?
(Hello, God.)
Is there still a chance,
That we could start again?
Hello, God, we've learned our lesson.
Dear God, don't let us go.
(Hello, Hello.)
More than ever,
Hello, God. Hello, hello.

Hello, God, we really need you,
We can't make it without you.
(Hello, God.)
We beseech you,
In the name of all that's true.
Hello God, please forgive us,
For we know not what we do.

Hello, God, give us one more chance,
To prove ourselves to you.
Hello, God, (Hello, God.)
Hello, God.

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE

"I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by Your side...
I can only imagine, what my eyes will see, when Your Face is before me!
I can only imagine. I can only imagine.

Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing 'Hallelujah!'? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine, when that day comes, when I find myself standing in the Son!
I can only imagine, when all I will do, is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine! Yeah! I can only imagine!! Only imagine!!!
I can only imagine.
I can only imagine, when all I do is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine."
